Patient Profile
- Age/Gender: 31-year-old male
- Past History: No history of hypertension, diabetes, COPD, thyroid disorder, food/drug allergy, or addictions (tea, tobacco, smoking).
- Bowel History: History of constipation on/off
- Presenting Complaint:
- Persistent itching in the perianal region
- Serosanguineous discharge from a perianal opening
- No history of bleeding per rectum
Clinical Findings
- Inspection: External opening at 7 o’clock position.
- Palpation: cord-like structure felt along the track.
- Digital Rectal Examination (DRE):
- sphincter tone normal
- internal pit at 6 o’clock position
- finger not stained with pus/stool
- Discharge: Pus observed from the external opening
Diagnosis: Fistula-in-ano
Treatment Given
- Procedure:Kshar Sutra (Shara Sutra) Therapy performed by Dr. Preeti Paliwal
- Kshar Sutra tied through the tract from 7 to 6 o’clock position
- Regular Kshar Sutra changes carried out until the tract was healed
- Dietary & Lifestyle Advice:
- High-fiber diet
- Adequate fluid intake
- Avoid straining during defecation
- Sitz Bath with lukewarm water
