Patient Profile:
A 24-year-old female visited our clinic with a primary complaint of a persistent feeling of a mass at anal region for the past three years. She also experienced pain in the anal region for the last 15 days, accompanied by drop-wise bleeding from the anal area. The patient reported hard stools and mild discomfort while walking. There was no history of hypertension, diabetes, previous surgeries, or any food or drug allergies.
Clinical Findings:
- Two sentinel tags were present at the 12 o’clock and 6 o’clock positions
- Soiling was observed
- On digital rectal examination, a tear was identified at the 6 o’clock position
- No sphincter spasm was noted
Diagnosis:
Chronic anal fissure with sentinel tags
